ROONEY EYEING FIRST WIN IN SIX
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is eyeing his first win in six Major League Soccer (MLS) games ahead of the visit of FC Cincinnati on Sunday. Wayne Rooney has struggled to win games in the MLS since his appointment as the D.C. United manager in the summer. He was given the job a few weeks after stepping down as the Derby County manager.
D.C. United made it four points from two games with the goalless draw with Colorado Rapids at home. The stalemate with Colorado Rapids ensured that D.C. United took their unbeaten run to two games. The unbeaten run reached three games with the goalless draw at the home of Real Salt Lake. Also, the result against Real Salt Lake meant that D.C United had not won in two games.
The 3-0 loss to home team Sporting Kansas City brought the three-game unbeaten run to a halt with Hungarian international Daniel Salloi sealing the win for the hosts. It also took the D.C. United winless run to three games. Since the Sporting Kansas City game, D.C. United have failed to beat Inter Miami and Montreal Impact.
