Rooney Unhappy After Moyes Release
The sacking of David Moyes might have brought smile on the faces of some of the seasoned Manchester United players, but, it was absolutely gutting for Wayne Rooney. The striker who had played under Moyes at Everton as well was believed to be standing in full support of his manager.
Rooney’s situation at Old Trafford was very tricky when Moyes had arrived at the start of this season. Because of the dispute with Sir Alex, the 28 years old was on the verge of making his way away, but, the new manager made him feel comfortable and somehow managed to convince him to stay and sign a new deal too.
So, Rooney had enough reasons to like Moyes and back him, but, the same can’t be said for the other senior Red Devils’ players. Most of them were not happy with the working style of the 50 years’ old Scot and were in favour of him being shown the exit door. Eventually, the board fulfilled their desire as on Monday, the announcement was made that Moyes’ days at Old Trafford were over.
As reported by a British newspaper, when Rooney reached the ground yesterday to train, he immediately tried to find out if Moyes was there in his office. When he was told ‘no’, he rung the Scot up and showed his gratefulness for making him stay.
For the rest of the ongoing season, Ryan Giggs has been given the charge at United and there have been reports that he might hold the position permanently if he does a good job in the few games that are remaining.
However, there are other men in contention as well including the Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal who will be without a job after the FIFA World Cup 2014.
