ROONEY MUST PROVE HIMSELF

Further, Wayne Rooney is also believed to have spent a Christmas party against the advice of Sir Alex Ferguson. Due to the Christmas party, Wayne Rooney was dropped from the squad that faced Blackburn Rovers on New Year’s Eve. Without the services of Wayne Rooney, Manchester United succumbed to a defeat at home in the most thrilling fashion. The return of Wayne Rooney to the starting eleven has provided Manchester United the necessary impetus to take a Manchester City in the title race. The England striker was exceptional in the 3-2 win over Manchester City in the third round of the FA Cup and he was also influential in the match against Bolton as well.
“Wayne had his moments but he can do better. I think missing the penalty kick maybe upset him a little bit. But it’s a good punishment,” Sir Alex Ferguson was quoted as saying to The Daily Mail.
