ROONEY INSPIRES
Manchester United’s latest Champions League encounter against the German side Bayer Leverkusen has inspired the team of David Moyes and started a wave of praises coming from the coach to the players themselves.
The match concluded with United overcoming Leverkusen with a convincing 5-0 triumph that not only secured their spot into the knockout stages of the Champions League but also lifted the spirits of the entire team as the performances from the entire team inspired them to continue playing in that same manner, especially for the Premier League as they have a tough task ahead of them with 21 points collected so far, they are 7 points behind the table toppers Arsenal.
Ryan Giggs played for the entirety of the match against Bayer Leverkusen and Rooney revealed that their opponents were asking how the veteran midfielder is capable of playing at that high level even though he has been played for over 22 years and made over 660 appearances for the English club. The man utd canvas website suggests that he might well continue for another year too!
Rooney told the English media: “I’ve run out of things to say about Ryan. Actually, during the game, the Bayer centre-half was asking how he is still playing at that age.
“I certainly won’t be playing at that age, that’s for sure. His composure on the ball is great.”
David Moyes also praised the current situation that Wayne Rooney is going through as the English striker has scored 3 goals and created 5 assists in Manchester United’s latest 7 matches.
He said: “At times he will get picked out, but I also think that everybody is recognizing the form he’s in. It was mentioned that he scored a goal and made another one against Cardiff but maybe more attention has been drawn to something else rather than his goal or making one’’.
