NO TRANSFER REQUEST
Wayne Rooney wants the Red Devils fans to know that he hadn’t asked for transfer at the end of the last season. Rooney wants the club to make it public.
A few days ago, the former manager of United, Sir Alex Ferguson, had publicly said that Rooney handed the club a transfer request.
After that statement of Ferguson, the Manchester United supporters are said to be unhappy with Rooney and the English international fears that even if he stays at United, he will have to suffer backlash from the supporters next season.
Rooney is likely to have a meeting with David Moyes in a couple of days and he is expected to make the new manager aware of this issue.
Rooney’s relationship with Sir Alex had worsened a lot in the last season. The 71 years old Scot who retired at the end of the last season had left Rooney out of the starting XI in some big games and Rooney was upset with that.
If Ferguson had remained in charge at United, he would undoubtedly have put Rooney on sale. But, now, with the new manager coming in, the chances of Rooney being sold are less.
David Moyes is said to be a big admirer of Rooney’s game and in some of his interviews, he has already said that he doesn’t want the 27 years old striker to leave the club.
According to the reports, Rooney himself is also not too much interested in making a move. His desire is to begin afresh under the new boss.
Moyes would not want this Rooney saga to affect the preparations of the club for the upcoming season. He would like to sort out this issue as soon as possible. He is also supposed to meet Rooney’s agent soon.
