ENGLAND HAVE QUALITY
England striker Wayne Rooney has said that he believes the national team has the quality to win the tournament like the Euro 2012, despite the fact that they have come into the tournament without of the best possible preparation after having lost the manager only a few months ago.
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was suspended for the first two group games of the Euro 2012 as a result of the red card he received against Montenegro in a friendly match. However, England managed to get into the brink of qualification after one draw and one victory in the two matches without Wayne Rooney.
He will be available for the final group match against Ukraine, in which England can seal their progress to the next round of the Euro 2012. Even though they are not the favourites to win the competition, Rooney has said that they have enough quality and that they have proved the same in the first two matches of the Euro 2012. The Manchester United striker has also praised the impact manager Roy Hodgson has had on the squad after arriving as a replacement for former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello. Even though he was not the favourite for the job, the former West Brom manager has turned the fortunes for England.
“I think we’re good enough to win it. We’ve got the players to. I know, obviously, everyone doesn’t want us to build up expectations but I firmly believe that we’ve got the players” Wayne told Man Utd news.
“Obviously, you need a bit of luck as well but I believe we’ve got a good opportunity. We’ve always believed. We have to be confident going into the Ukraine game. We’ve got big belief in ourselves and know we’re good enough to get through the group stage.”.
